CHAPPIE Wins Crapilly Attended Weekend, 2nd MARIGOLD Does OK

With box office receipts still in the doldrums, the "sci-fi heartwarmer" CHAPPiE managed a first place finish with less than $15 million. TCM to Feature 9-Film /All Day Bad Horror Movie Festival Wednesday

With titles including EQUINOX, William Castle's Buried-Alive Exploitation flick MACABRE, the Killer Bunnies Cult Classic NIGHT OF THE LEPUS and All-Time Schlockiest Movie Contender THE BRAIN THAT WOULDN'T DIE (which is featured in THE OFFICIAL RAZZIE MOVIE GUIDE) Turner Classic Movies is running 14 hours of Bad Movie Heaven back-to-back, all day Wednesday.

Auds Turn Their FOCUS Elsewhere as Post-Oscar Weekend Lacks Tix Sales

The first weekend after the Academy Awards is traditionally slow, but this year it was almost dead. With less than $20 million, Will Smith's heist flick FOCUS took first place, 50 SHADES OF GREY fell off another 50% to tumble down to 4th and debuting horror title THE LAZARUS EFFECT came in 5th.
