With excellent reviews and a hilarious TV campaign, many were expecting Melissa McCarthy's SPY to open huge. It did take #1, but couldn't hit the anticipated highs, and barely topped holdover SAN ANDREAS. Meanwhile, Dizz-Knee's big budget bust TOMORROWLAND is D.O.A. just North of $75 million. TOMORROWLAND Crashes & Burns, Takes Memorial Day Weekend w/It

Dizz-Knee's latest attempt to turn a theme park ride into a film franchise essentially tanked: George Clooney in the $180 million TOMORROWLAND did take the top spot, but with a total take so much less than expected that it's being blamed for the lowest-grossing Memorial Day weekend more than a decade.
