I was weary about this movie when I saw the trailer at home on my computer screen. However, when I saw it on the IMAX screen with the huge surround sounds before AVATAR, I was blown away by it. It was really intense. I could feel the entire floor shaking. I might see it now. I mean, Christopher Columbus did HP and those turned out to be brilliant.
I don't think he's a main character. The trailer made me curious.
This will be the Zombieland of 2009. The pre-screening reviews so far have been tremendously positive.
I'm excited for this. I thought the original movie was good with a terrible, terrible, terrible ending. It ruins the whole point of the film.
The plot sounds intriguing. It has the It's a Wonderful Life vibe and after the disappointing third film, it can't really be worse than that.
I don't think so. The cast looks great.
Actually, remakes of a film the previous year is too recent.
To be fair, this book in the series is said to be the most violent so all the guys who are complaining about this series probably will end up liking this movie. Maybe?
Looks intriguing by the trailer.
The last three weren't bad. They were mostly forgettable.
Considering the first two are highly successful, this probably won't bomb.
Didn't Saw VI do that? It had the second highest reviews since the first film. |

It looks like the most watchable of the movies on this list.
Don't count on it. Part of "Zombieland"'s success is the fact it was mocking the dozens and dozens of zombie movies that have been invading movie theaters for the past decade. There's no market for mocking preteens running around shooting adults. It might have a cult following on DVD, but it's not going to be the run away "comedy" hit of the year.
Gee, MWG is counting the seconds to see yet another horror movie remake. No surprise there. And it's this rush to the theaters to see these crappy remakes is the reason why they exist and come out on a yearly basis.
Yes, because that's what the world needs, yet another "It's a Wonderful Life" homage. We need one of those as much as we need yet another "Christmas Carol" adaptation.
Well, you never think anything posted here is Razzie worthy. Yes, the cast looks like the originals, but looking the part and acting well in the part are two different things. Rampage Jackson is NO Mr. T.
Or in "Death at a Funeral"'s case, only three years!
They won't make the movie too violent. Remember, they are trying to attract preteen girls with pretty boys staring longingly into Bella's eyes, not turn them away with blood and guts.
Well, that may be, but that's the whole point of the trailer. We don't know what the movie itself will be like.
Oh, you're right, they weren't "bad". The first was crappy, the second was god-awful, and the third was unwatchable. And they were COMPLETELY forgettable as a whole.
Yeah, that's not a good thing. That only means we will have to hear news of a "Jackass 4".
Seriously, why does this series keep on going? Why do people support it? It's the same sh*t over and over and over and the only thing that changes are the cast members and what the traps are. There's NOWHERE else for this series to go! So what if the last one had the best reviews; it had its ass handed to itself by "Paranormal Activity"! The fans have spoken and they don't want torture porn any more, they want real scary thrills, the kind from what's not shown on screen.

HeadRazzberry's giving us forum space for Tooth Fairy AND Legion. I guess he has a problem with shapeshifting beasts called 'angels'. Based on the trailer, the premise is weird. Based on some reviews, the film doesn't know what religion it is. My thoughts are that it would be better to see it in theaters early in the afternoon, rent it on DVD, or watch it online. |

Hey, HeadRAZZ, when will the forums for Leap Year, Crazy on the Outside and The Spy Next Door be unlocked?
Of the three movies being released this weekend to watch, as in "watch out for", there are already forums for The Tooth Fairy and Legion. We still need to keep an eye on Extraordinary Measures. Apparently, Harrison Ford can't executive produce his way out of putting a made-for-TV movie on the big screen. I don't know if being a letdown qualifies as bad enough, but the bad reviews are pouring in, and Prairie Miller is one of the few who like it, a bad sign for sure.

I'll throw in my two cents for films coming out this year that may be in for Razzie consideration:
JANUARY When in Rome WHY? - Mark Steven Johnson helming a formulaic romantic comedy. Need I say more? FEBRUARY Dear John WHY? - Adaptations of novels by Nicholas Sparks are immediate epic failures. And there's the guy who played Duke in G.I. Joe. He can't move his face to save his life! Valentine's Day WHY? - He's Just Not Into You helmed by Georgia Rule director Garry Marshall, also starring Twilight hunk Taylor Lautner. Yeah, 'nuff said. MARCH The Bounty Hunter WHY? - Think Midnight Run meets every romantic comedy you've ever seen in the past decade. Counting the days until Gerard Butler does a comic book movie? Remember Me WHY? - R-Patz. The Runaways WHY? - Reaction is lukewarm, according to DListed. But can Kristen Stewart pull off a great Joan Jett impersonation? Season of the Witch WHY? - Back when Dominic Sena directed Nicolas Cage, it was Gone in 60 Seconds. APRIL The Back-Up Plan WHY? - J-Lo does another rom-com? Get me outta here! Death at a Funeral WHY? - Remakes don't do so well. And throwing in Chris Rock and other well-known African-American actors in the mix can spell disaster. Then there's the cherry on top: Neil Labute. Remember The Wicker Man? Furry Vengeance WHY? - Animals defending their territory from the man. Sounds like Dr. Doolittle 2. The Last Song WHY? - Anyone who knows about this movie need not need an explanation from me. Machete WHY? - Robert Rodriguez does well with R-rated films. But can he direct a film with train wreck Lindsay Lohan (her first mainstream film since I Know Who Killed Me), Razzie-nominated Jessica Alba, and Steven Seagal (her first mainstream film since Half Past Dead)? A Nightmare on Elm Street WHY? - Take a music video director, have Michael Bay executive produce, choose a classic horror film, and what do you get? Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married Too? WHY? - It's time we nominate this guy. His films are as big religious agendas as Kirk Cameron's recent video back in November. And I grow weary of films where black actors and actresses yell at each other. Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps WHY? - So Oliver Stone resurrects this franchise after two decades? Throwing in Shia LaBeouf isn't progress. I think we're gonna have out Basically It Stinks 2 this year, but at least Oliver Stone is directing, right? Right? MAY Sex and the City 2 WHY? - Self-absorbed women whine about their love lives and their choice of clothes. Topped off with a Miley Cyrus cameo. Run for ze hills! Takers WHY? - The premise is basically the same as Armored. This time, Matt Dillon plays the hero. JUNE Grown-Ups WHY? - The Razzie Forum loves to take the piss out of Adam Sandler. Jonah Hex WHY? - Besides Megan Fox, turning a hardcore comic book into a PG-13 film is just asking for it. And something tells me Mastodon scoring the soundtrack is nothing more than pure gimmick. Here's hoping Josh Brolin, John Malkovich, Will Arnett, AND Fox can succeed. Yes, I'm rooting for Fox. Deal with it! The Karate Kid WHY? - The Smiths (Will and Jada Pinkett) push their crappy actor son into an unnecessary remake which also stars Jackie Chan. Killers WHY? - It joins The Bounty Hunter as another romantic comedy with action. It's helmed by the director of Bride Wars. Marmaduke WHY? - Garfield didn't make a good film based on a comic strip, so don't expect Marmaduke to do any better. And you have the director of Failure to Launch. The Twilight Saga: Eclipse WHY? - Really, if you need an explanation... well, consider yourself lucky. JULY Cats & Dogs: Kitty Galore WHY? - Nine years pass for a sequel? Knight & Day WHY? - Another action/romance/comedy hybrid. With Tom Fooze! The Last Airbender WHY? - After The Happening, Shyamalan should hang his head in shame. Chalk up another mediocre adaptation of a good anime. Predators WHY? - Watch as the once proud franchise gets further ass-raped by money-hungry Hollywood execs. AvP: Requiem will be Ghandi compared to this upcoming mess. The Sorcerer's Apprentice WHY? - So now it's come to this. Disney is remaking a classic Mickey Mouse short? Helmed by the director of National Treasure, and starring Nic Cage? I smell a sh*tstorm. AUGUST Lottery Ticket WHY? - Bow Wow and Ice Cube slum it up for what might be a family comedy or a raunchy comedy. Who gives a crap? Pirahna 3-D WHY? - Unless it can pull a My Bloody Valentine and be watchable, I'm not holding my breath. Nice to see Richard Dreyfuss battle the horrors of the ocean again, though. Priest WHY? - Remember Legion? Well, our director and star reunite for another religious film, this time with vampires (speaking of which, True Blood's Stephen Moyer appears). Can Sam Raimi's production hand elevate it? Step-Up 3D WHY? - It's a franchise that keeps on giving, just like Saw. SEPTEMBER The Roomate WHY? - College hotties (Leighton Meester and Minka Kelly) getting in horrific situations. Who cares? You Again WHY? - Mr. Woodcock with a gender switch. OCTOBER Going the Distance WHY? - Drew Barrymore and Justin Long. Yet another Hollywood couple flaunting their relationship in a wannabe When Harry met Sally film. Saw VII 3D WHY? - It's Saw! Let Me In WHY? - Yep, they're remaking Let the Right One In. And I don't even like the new title. It's gonna suck more than The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, I imagine. NOVEMBER Burlesque WHY? - Aside from SNL back in '04, can Christina Aguilera actually act? Red Dawn WHY? - What could've been a nice contemporary update of a classic 80's film becomes another pointless remake. I'm counting the days until we see Chris Hemsworth as the mighty Thor. DECEMBER Tron Legacy WHY? - Like with Wall Street 2, what's the point of bringing back an old franchise from the 80's besides cash. That's Disney. But like someone said on Comicbookmovie, Olivia Wilde is a number one stunner and a fan of the franchise. Maybe I'm nuts. Yogi Bear WHY? - As if Scooby Doo wasn't enough, Hollywood rapes more memories of classic Hanna-Barbera cartoons by hiring a defunct SNL member and an N*STYNCER (okay, Justin Timberlake can be funny on SNL, but I get queasy over this) to voice two legends. |

A 90 minute movie about how everyone wants to have sex with Kristin Bell. I never thought someone would actually greenlight that!
Why? To lore in the "Twilight" crowd who want to see teenagers in love stare into each other's eyes for 90 minutes.
You answered your own question, because it's trying to be as successful as "He's Just Not That Into You".
Is anything Gerard Butler is in automatically Razzie worthy? Did everyone really hate "300" THAT much?
Cage needs to stop doing supernatural thrillers, because he sucks in them. Of course, considering the lifestyle he lives of buying anything that's not nailed down or on fire, he needs the money.
Yeah, I think J-Lo's 15 minutes of fame died with "Gigli".
As I told a friend of mine when we saw the poster for this movie, it must suck to be Zoe Saldana. To go from "Avatar" to this piece of crap, I would be having a serious sit down chat with my agent.
Because much like Health Ledger's Joker, Michael Bay doesn't have a plan ... he just does things.
Because H-Wood has to cash in on the current events of what happened on Wall Street and the stock market.
Because it's like "Star Wars" for women.
Worst Ensemble Cast contender!
As I said before, I'm turning 30 this year, yet it seems every movie that was released during my childhood is still in theaters!
It's only a matter of time before we get "Healthcliff: The Movie".
Four books in the series, that's why.
Damn you "Alvin & The Chipmucks"! Why did you have to be so successful and cause all these copycat movies to exist!?
Because it's Tom Cruise in the role he was born to play: a crazed mad man!
Well, we all know one movie goer who will be singing the praises of this movie no matter how successful it is with critics and audiences.
See my comment from "Karate Kid".
Disney sucks and Pixar is the only thing keeping it afloat.
AUGUST
Yes, so now we can see break dancing in 3-D! Why the hell did someone think this was a good idea?!
But it's in 3-D, so that the saws and other killing devices will swing out at you. That makes it a better movie, right. Right?
Again, see my comment from "Karate Kid".
I really don't get this logic of H-Wood of making sequels 20 years from the originals.
Gee, what else from my childhood can H-Wood sh*t on?

I'm looking forward to this movie. As a sentimental guy, I LOVE movies like this. In fact, Titanic is my favorite movie. Strangely, I didn't like The Notebook as much when I saw it but I'm looking forward to this movie. It looks fantastic!
But it stars some Oscar nominees too. So what?
That was Labute's first misstep. You know he made other movies than The Wicker Man, right?
Just because a movie stars actors you don't like doesn't make it a bad movie. This seems to be the correlation between the Razzie winners. Just because Paris Hilton is in so and so movie doesn't mean the movie itself is bad. I'm still not over the fact that she won a Razzie for her performance in House of Wax. When Roger Ebert and Richard Roeper were reviewing the movie, they talked about how decent her performance is and how they'd expect many people to poke fun of her just because she's Paris Hilton.
Everyone starts somewhere. The director of 500 Days of Summer did some music videos.
I'm a huge defender for this guy. He started down right poor. He was raped by his father and he made it all the way up by himself. Now he has his own company which gives him creative control for basically all of his movies while Lionsgate distributes them and he's making money on every film he makes. This is a fairy tale come true and I can't help but feel some resentment from people. And I've actually seen some of his films and they are good and nowhere near as bad as their IMDb ratings suggest. His last film, I Can Do Bad All By Myself was his first fresh rating on RT and it has an 80% from the top critics. People are saying it's his best film yet. I applaud this man and what he's doing for the minorities.
It looks quite hilarious and entertaining judging from the trailer. Which trailer were you watching?
Why should he hang is head in shame? He doesn't make movies for you and because of that, you act as if he should shoot himself in the foot.
This may end up good. I never really liked the first two films.
This may end up like either MBV3D or The Final Destination 3D. Considering it's from Aja, let's hope the former.
I'm looking forward to this. The second one was actually better than the first and the dancing sequences were mind-blowing. Some of the best ever caught on film. But this one is in 3D!
You act as if Saw was the worst film created.
It's directed by the guy who did Cloverfield so I hope it ends up good. Wouldn't it be funny if one buys a ticket and says, "I want one ticket to let me in, please."
You are nuts. Tron 2 will probably be one of the most successful movies of this year and one of the most anticipated movies of this year. The technology looks amazing. |
