I went to the movies and saw BRAVE. I don't think it should be nominated for any Razzies, not even Worst Prequel/Remake/Rip-Off/Sequel (for being a rip-off of BROTHER BEAR... among other movies).

Sofia Vergara is TV's highest paid actress. I have never seen Modern Families, but what I know of her movies, I doubt she deserves it. She was so annoying in New Year's Eve and Smurfs, and she ownes quite the impressive rotten movie resume.

Regards to all my friends here at the Razzies. It has been a very busy few months and I have not been around a great deal. Unfortunately, in light of this morning's events over on the other side of town, I feel the need to take a hiatus from anything movie related for at least the next few weeks. I used to live over in Aurora, a short distance from the Century Theater. I spent many evenings there watching movies good and bad. For that reason, combined with the unfortunate fact that this is the second time in just over a decade that those of us living in this area have had to endure a tragedy of this nature, it is all cutting very deep personally right now.

Fear not...in a few weeks I will return reenergized with my usual venom and vigor. I may stop in from time to time just to keep up with the dialog, but my own participation will be on hold temporarily. While people continue to fight for their lives as I write, while familes must find a way to heal, I cannot think much about movies, good or bad. I shall see you all again in a few weeks.

Just as a personal note to Head Razz: Have no worries about accusations of being a bleeding heart liberal. That appallingly crappy piece of legalese writing known as the Second Amendment to the Constitution probably grants people the right to own all the flintlocks and muskets they desire. It might even apply to hand guns, shotguns and conventional rifles. But NO ONE needs to own assault weapons, and it's time the rational people in our society took a stand...

After an unspeakable cataclysm, "The Dark Knight Rises" and other violent movies are under enormous pressure.  Movie theater security has increased and numerous stations have pulled DKR ads due to these events.  Box office results will not be revealed due to this tragedy and numerous theaters are enforcing dress codes and checking containers for weapons.  Many people still plan to see the movie, but others still fear the possibility of something similar happening.  What happened was unforgivable, and I think the man responsible must be executed.

Hopefully, there won't be an inconclusiv,e fallacy-ridden documentary stemming from this disaster.

What an emotional rollercoaster! I can't imagine how it would be to date you.
LOL
It wasn't until this morning until I read that the incident entered the list of the country's biggest massacres. I guess I'm not shocked that easily, ironically because of all the crimes. One of the biggest criticisms against Chile (and some of your states) is that the news used to last 60 minutes instead of 30 until about a year ago, and now they're 90 minutes long. So yeah, it's an endless cycle. Anyway, I wish the best for all the victims' families.

So today I just found out that one of my female cousins is going to be an extra in Grown Ups 2.

Go ahead, laugh at the loss of my dignity.

Elizabeth Hartman and Judith Barsi are much more talented and beautiful than Scarlett Johansson and Chloe Grace Moretz. Fact.

If Grown Ups 2 gets a Worst Screen Ensembble nod or win, you'll have a personal attachment to the Razzies.

UP-DATE from Ye Olde Head RAZZberry: A reporter for MSN Entertainment ( who could use a little help spelling "Razzy") has picked his Ten Best and Ten WORST Movies of 2012, so far. Here's the LINK to check out his Worst choices (many of which are already under discussion as potential "RAZZIE®" Contenders elsewhere on this Forum). If you wanna see the guy's Ten Best picks, simply "back scroll" from the page to which I linked...

I just have one question about the Teen Choice Awards. See, there's this "Ultimate Choice" Award. It used to be like the MTV Generation Award, until last year when they gave it to Taylor Swift. I assume that now it's given to those who win in every category they're nominated. This year, it went to the TWILIGHT saga, even though it only won 3 awards. My question is: Why did they give it now, instead of waiting until next year when the saga ends? Is it because next year they're still gonna do a tribute like HARRY POTTER last year, and so they wanna leave room for more people/movies to get that award?

Among the movies on that list, I saw THE LORAX a few days ago. While the changes from the book (and TV special) weren't relevant (except showing THE ONCE-LER at the end), I still didn't think it was Razzie-worthy.

To oiram: If I were her, I'd have said I was young and needed the money!

To Vits: Your guess is as good as mine. The tribute makes a little sense, but there might be a better explanation from someone who actually cares about the Teen Choice Awards (very few of us do).

To HeadRAZZ: 80-90 percent of the comments on the MSN article flamed all the good films, and defended all the bad ones. If anyone knows why, I'd like to hear it -- altough I agree with them to a limited extent. I can't understand why they're flaming all of the MSN editor's favorites, but his most hated is where the commenters are a little correct. Why didn't the editor put The Devil Inside, A Thousand Words, One For the Money, Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, Gone, and/or Battleship on his worst list? And why did the editor pick all those hard-to-recognize limited releases that didn't earn forums here, such as Tim & Eric's Billion Dollar Movie?

RESPONSE from Head RAZZberry: I, too, thought the MSN "worst" list was rather eclectic (and top-heavy with titles even I had to check to confirm had even been released in the U.S.). When I Googled his name, I found out the author had once been a film critic for The Toronto Star -- so maybe some of those oddball choices were shown more widely "up North"??

RAZZIE Dirty Dozen: Battlefield Earth, F G Fingered, Pluto Nash, A Sound of Thunder, Alone in the Dark, Dirty Love, Rise Silver Srfr, Daddy Day Camp, IKWKM, The Love Guru, All About Steve, Airbender

Actually, most of his picks for the best were limited releases (some that I didn't even hear about). Notice that in each movie, there's a "runner-up that's similar to this movie" (e.g. PROMETHEUS to THE HUNGER GAMES). But that doesn't appear in the worst movies, and that would've given more space to the movies GTA just listed.

Just when I think they couldn't rape enough of my childhood, Taylor Kitsch is being considered as a main candidate for the lead role in the Need for Speed movie. Can anyone help me get off this planet before I'm doomed?

The Need For Speed movie was doomed the moment they gave it a February release date.
