I think a Christmas Carol, might be one of those Actor's rights of Passage things. Every Actor has to do one at some point in their career. I think it is part of the SAG's guidelines.

I was in A Christmas Carol way back in 8th grade. I wasn't Scrooge though...my darned drama teacher couldn't recognize a sure thing when she saw it.  I played one of the two gentlemen who come to visit Scrooge soliciting donations for the poor. I had two stupid lines. That was the end of my acting career, even though I recited my two rather difficult lines flawlessly. That was probably the beginning of the end of acting as an artform.

I have yet to do a version of Christmas Carol, which is how I know my time as a stage actor is not done. And if I had to choose a role to do, I'd choose.... um.... Is there a serial killer in that one?

Ooooh! There's a horrible idea! A Christmas Carol on Elm Street. Rename Freddy, he could be Freddy Scrooger! It's so brilliant, I can't see why Hollywood hasn't jumped on it already.

Damn, I think I need to sleep or something...

I was also in A Christmas Carol as well, except for the title was EBENEZER SCROOGE, and it was actually a ballet version.

A Christmas Carol Ballet?

Perhaps I can work that into my Christmas Carol on Elm Street idea...

ACC has always been waiting for chainsaws and flying CG robots. Time to get Lucas on the phone.

Yes! George Lucas will find a way to make Scrooge a part for Hayden Christensen. Perhaps he could have Bob Cratchet played by a CG Gungan... And of course, Tiny Tim would have to be played by some horrible child actor similar to that kid from the first Star Wars Prequel...

But I think what the world Actually needs, is Michael Bay presents: A Christmas Carol. 2 hours of loosely tied together explosions, somehow involving a guy named Scrooge... I think that would be an Oscar Sweep for sure!

Jake Lloyd is most likely either 19 or 20 right now, so he wouldn't be fit to play Tiny Tim, but would play a role, and still do terrible.

Well, I'm not saying he would PERSONALLY be Tiny Tim... just someone LIKE him... And finding a terrible child actor is like finding a needle in a needle factory...

That kid hasn't been on screen in 8 years. Which begs the question, why did someone actually cast him in anything after Phantom Menace. And he's 20 this year.

I don't think Lucas would have to go too far afield:

Scrooge: Darth Vader

Bob Cratchit: C3PO

Tiny Tim: R2D2

The Ghost of Christmas Past: Obi Wan Kenobi

The Ghost of Christmas Present: Hayden Christensen

The Ghost of Christmas Future: Luke Skywalker

Jacob Marley: Yoda ("Be visited by 3 ghosts tonight you will")

etc....

I have an idea for a Christmas Carol like movie for George Lucas, how about three ghosts of Hollywood past, present, and future visiting him to show that he must change his ways and make QUALITY films or else he will be no better than Uwe Boll or Michael Bay in bringing about the end of good and original movies, period?

well, Lucas has won a RAZZIE, but not for directing, and now Uwe Boll has won a RAZZIE for three films, and in addition, a Worst Career Achievement Award, but Michael Bay has yet to win a RAZZIE...

Oh, and there's "Ghosts of Girlfriend's Past", which is pretty much "Christmas Carol", except the ghosts are teaching the main character to respect women instead of teaching him to love Christmas.
